Bio
Oswin never met his parents, his first memories were of the orphanage in Ul'dah where he was raised. It was there that Oswin met his life-long friend and companion Berthar, another orphan from one of the many poverty stricken Ala Mhigan immigrants. Berthar always acted as the midlander's older brother, protecting and caring for the young sickly Oswin from the older children.Unfortunately, due to overcrowding, children who weren't adopted out were sent back onto the streets upon reaching age 16. When Berthar's turn came, Oswin followed, despite having two more years before his own time would run out. It was on Pearl Lane where their bond was forged, and where the boy learned of his feelings for his friend.Before Oswin could muster the courage to confess, Berthar met his match in another refugee; a woman. When the rebels took Gyr Abania back from the Empire, it was then that Oswin felt the sting of his loss-- Berthar intended to marry, and to return with his fiancé to Ala Mhigo.After the happy couple departed, Oswin found himself alone on the streets for the first time in his life. While he was certainly capable in his own right, he didn't have the bite of a Highlander backing up his bark.The young Hyur has found himself in a downward spiral ever since, taking whatever he can get from whoever he can take it from. And if you find yourself on the back streets one dark night, you might just find yourself a coinpurse lighter.
RPJust some addendums and RP starters I had in mind whilst making Oswin.
Ul'dahn - Oswin grew up his whole life in Ul'dah, surrounded by the vast scorching city. He's a scrappy sort, having had to fight for every bit of food, water and shade. He's also got a bit of a potty mouth; 'Nald's Balls' being a favorite.Potential - Oswin isn't stupid, just uneducated. If you have a mind to take the boy under your wing as a protege he'll do his best given you earned his respect.Lonely - Oswin doesn't have many friends. Everything is give and take in Ul'dah, and for the poor on Pearl Lane friends could just mean another mouth to feed. Companionship might be appealing if you can breach Oswin's rough exterior.Poverty - A hungry man is a desperate one. Even just a small amount of gil could make Oswin's life easier, and that means as long as it pays well enough no job is too dirty.
Mature Themes? - Yes! I'm an adult, and assuming you are too, I honestly prefer exploring adult themes. I'm not looking to sugar coat life.All RP? Even THAT one? - Yes. Even THAT one. But keep in mind, I don't plan on exploring that with Oswin at the drop of a hat. I'm very character focused, and if Oswin were to even get close enough for something like that, it would take an extreme amount of time.Battle? - Short answer: Probably!
Long answer: Oswin is a scrappy fighter on the backstreets of Pearl Lane, he's had a tumble once or twice with others. Not that he's a trained fighter or anything of the sort, just a regular bar brawler.Anything Else? - Nope! Let me know if there's anything else you wanna know, either through discord or in game!
